A imagem acima remete à primeira aula de apresentação dos alunos às máquinas de costura. Neste contato inicial eles utilizam as máquinas caseiras. As primeiras aulas são de costura reta e zig-zag para juntar tecidos, logo a seguir começam os detalhes de aplicação de fechos, bolsos, cós, vieses, caseados e pregar botões. Nos períodos seguintes eles conhecem as máquinas industriais.
